Andrew Luck Teams up with Quaker Oats for New Contest

Quaker Oats Teams Up With NFL PLAY 60 and Andrew Luck To Find Kids With A Winning Combination of Healthy Habits.

NFL rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has teamed up with The Quaker Oats Company and NFL PLAY 60 to launch the NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest. The contest aims to highlight the importance of healthy habits by finding children who can provide inspiration for their peers through the healthy lifestyles they lead.

On his first Tuesday off during the typical NFL regular-season work week, Andrew Luck spent the morning with 26 children.

When Luck asked the Indianapolis Public Schools elementary students to name their role models, the first name a youngster blurted out was a famous quarterback on a rival team!

“The New England Patriots quarterback? Tom Brady?” Luck said. “He’s really good, but we don’t like the Patriots in Indianapolis.”

Luck arrived at the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center and did more than two hours of interviews as part of the NFL Play 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker Oats. The contest offers the grand prize winner a trip to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.

Active kids can enter the contest by sharing the ways they fuel their busy lives with healthy foods on the Quaker Oats website, where they will be in with a chance of winning prizes such as tickets to NFL games and a grand prize trip to Super Bowl XLVII where they will run the game ball on to the field. Andrew says, ‘I believe that good nutrition and regular physical activity can help improve kids’ lives, and I’m happy to join Quaker and NFL PLAY60 to recognize kids who make
healthy choices.’

“Y’all are filled up with some Quaker Oats and ready to go?” Luck asked, prompting the kids to cheer.

“Not everyone is a fan of football, so you try to encourage them, maybe just to learn how to throw the ball,” Luck said. “It’s fun. It’s not about being a football fan; it’s about getting out, being active and hopefully have some fun playing
whatever sport you enjoy.”

Justin Lambeth, Chief Marketing Officer for Quaker Oats, said; “Quaker and NFL PLAY 60 believe kids and families can inspire each other to make important lifestyle changes now that will benefit them throughout their lives.

“For the past 135 years, Quaker has nourished families to help power their play. By working with dynamic role models like Andrew Luck and supporting activities that foster change, such as The NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker, we remain committed to supporting healthy families for years to come.”

Andrew Luck, a supporter of NFL PLAY 60, is building his relationship with Quaker based on their shared mission of motivating families to be active and choose wholesome foods. “Growing up, my family and teammates inspired me to eat right and make physical fitness a way of life. So I know that role models, especially the peer-to-peer kind, make all the difference,” said Luck. “I believe that good nutrition and regular physical activity can help improve kids’ lives, and I’m happy to join Quaker and NFL PLAY 60 to recognize kids who inspire others to make healthy choices.”

Before the passer met the students, the youngsters enjoyed some Quaker Oats oatmeal with fruit. That’s Luck’s breakfast food of choice, too.
